Leticia Casillas-Sanchez, MPH, CHES

Leticia Casillas-Sanchez is a Mexican American and a child of immigrant parents. Leticia was raised in South LA during a challenging period of violence and disinvestment in the community. These experiences shaped her desire to support communities and demonstrate the strength they hold collectively. Leticia was the first to receive undergraduate and advanced degrees in her family.
She is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in maternal/child health and early childhood programming in Southern California. Collectively, she has worked in the healthcare, direct service field, nonprofit, and philanthropic space to design and implement early childhood programs related to workforce development, countywide program implementation, programmatic policy, and use of best practices models in early childhood programming across Los Angeles and Orange Counties.
Leticia is an avid strength trainer, mom to three daughters, and has a passion for civic engagement in her hometown of Pomona and has been married for over 20 years.
Lucie Leung-Gurung, MHA

Lucie Leung-Gurung has years of experience working in behavioral and community health. She has also managed multiple community-based research studies, developed research designs with community emphasis, and created research tools such as surveys and focus groups in English and Spanish and for a variety of audiences. Furthermore, Mrs. Leung-Gurung has led data analysis and preparation of reports that showcased compelling stories from the perspective of community members. Her expertise in using various survey collection, data analysis, and presentation tools for a diverse audience, include Qualtrics, Survey123, ArcGIS, Google Suite, IBM SPSS, and SAS. Additionally, her leadership has allowed her to successfully lead initiatives across sectors and has experience teaching undergraduate and graduate level public health courses. More recently, she is part of the All Children Thrive (ACT) initiative in Pomona where it is designed to transform how the city addresses childhood trauma and focuses on improving child and family wellbeing.
Mrs. Leung-Gurung has a Bachelor’s in Biology and a Master’s in Health Administration from the University of La Verne. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Health Promotion Sciences with a concentration in Biostatistics from Claremont Graduate University’s School of Community and Global Health. Lucie is a food lover and explores diverse cultures through cooking. She speaks fluent Spanish and conversational Cantonese, and loves to travel.
